SPALDWICK, a parish in the hundred of LEIGHTONSTONE, county of HUNTINGDON, 3¾ miles (N.E. by N.) from Kimbolton, containing 332 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the peculiar jurisdiction and patronage of the Prebendary of Longstowe in the Cathedral Church of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £12.0.10., and endowed with £200 royal bounty. The church is dedicated to St. James. There are places of worship for Baptists and Independents. Fairs for cattle are held on Whit-Monday and November 28th.
